'BECOMING GLOBAL' WORKSHOP

The Becoming Global workshop is intended for the mission committee and /or ministry team in your local church. Guided by the SMBC facilitator, the group uses the workbook provided to review the existing mission program in the church and design a three year program of education and awareness building appropriate for the congregation

The workshop is not a list of easy solutions, but provides an opportunity for guided discussion and reflection on how your church can be actively involved in fulfilling the biblical vision of the gospel being shared around the world.

Workshop content:

  • Review of some key biblical principles concerning God, His world and the church.
  • Analysis of the current mission perspective and activities of the church.
  • Identification of areas of possible future development.
  • Introduction to some simple planning tools for a local church missions program.
  • Sharing of a range of program ideas and available resources.

Workshop requirements:

The workshop demands approximately five hours. Most commonly, it is held on a Saturday from 9am to 3pm, allowing time for lunch. It is held at your church location and each participant receives a copy of the workbook in order to facilitate further discussion.
