Kirk worked as a speech pathologist before studying theology and entering Presbyterian ministry. He has been involved in parish work in Mt Druitt and Lake Macquarie. In recent times Kirk completed a commentary of the Book of Isaiah. Kirk and his wife Lisa have two sons and live in the lower Blue Mountains. Kirk enjoys observing and analysing popular culture.
