Principal's Welcome
Since 1916, Sydney Missionary and Bible College (SMBC) has been training men and women for gospel service. SMBC is a diverse, yet unified community. As an interdenominational college, students, faculty and staff represent various denominations and nationalities.
Choosing to study at Bible College will be an important decision for you and I hope the information in this website will be of great benefit as you prayerfully consider the next steps in your ministry preparation.
While many students come to College with a goal after graduation, there are also many to whom ministry after college is a work in progress. It is therefore important to be aware that graduates with SMBC and Australian College of Theology awards are well recognised by most Christian missions and other organisations as having excellent academic preparation for Christian service.
Central to all SMBC courses is the teaching of the Bible, the Word of God.
As a missionary training college, we also have a strong missions and cross-cultural focus. This is relevant for both students intending to minister in multicultural Australia and for those intending to minister overseas.
Goals for students are:
-
that the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is understood,
-
that the gospel is personally applied in everyday Christian living - growing to be more like Christ, and
-
that individual progress in the ability to faithfully and sensitively communicate the gospel to the world is achieved.
Ideal times to visit the College are for ‘Open Evening’ and ‘Open Morning’.
Alternatively, outside these times please contact our office staff to arrange a college tour.
