The SMBC School of Preaching is a training initiative to encourage and develop preachers in their conviction of the importance and need of Biblical preaching, their desire to see God change people’s lives through their preaching, and their commitment to understanding and adapting to their audience.
The School of Preaching coordinates the preaching strands of each course at SMBC, and offers training in regional locations throughout Australia and overseas.
It does this in the following ways:
1) Preaching and development training to equip, encourage and develop preachers across the spectrum of age and experience. This training covers:
-Careful and thorough exegesis of the Bible
The theology of preaching
-Literature types of the Bible
-Method in what to say
-Method in how to say it
-Evangelistic preaching
-Worldviews
-Practical application
-Apologetics
2) The week-long SMBC Biennial Preaching Conference.
3) One and two day conferences throughout the year focusing on preaching from particular books of the Bible and specific aspects of preaching.
4) Regional, country, and overseas Preaching Workshops.
The SMBC Centre for Preaching recognises that God alone is the source of all giftedness. It is our prayer that He may use those who benefit from the School’s training to edify His people and proclaim the gospel to the ends of the earth.
