The
two major sources of income for the College are
student fees, and donations from friends of the
College.
Fees
cover tuition, subject outlines, library usage, and,
for residential students, meals and accommodation
during College semesters, research weeks and
orientation.
Fees
for full time students are payable in full at the
beginning of each semester.
Prospective
students need to carefully consider their financial
status as residential or non-residential, full or
part time study. Refunds may not be made after the
commencement of the College year, except in very
special circumstances.
Fees
are subject to annual review. For a copy of the
current fee schedule or further information about
fees contact the College Office on (02) 9747 4780.
Other
additional costs to consider include text books and
stationery needs, photocopying, use of College
washing machines and dryers (residential students
only), and pay phone.
Youth
Allowance and Austudy
Students
enrolled in the Diploma of Theology, Associate
Degree in Theology, Bachelor of Theology and
Graduate Diploma courses may be entitled to the
Australian Government Youth Allowance or Austudy
payments.
The
SMBC Provider Code is 2P005. Please use this code
when applying for Centrelink benefits.
Provided
qualification requirements are in line with
Centrelink guidelines, students taking at least 75
percent of the full-time load of an approved course
may be eligible for Austudy benefits. This applies
to Postgraduate Diploma of Divinity and Mission
students if they are enrolled in more than 75
percent of the Diploma of Theology.
FEE-HELP
FEE-HELP
is an Australian Commonwealth Government loan scheme
that assists eligible students to pay their tuition
fees. It is available to full and part time
students, who are Australian citizens, and are
enrolled in any of the Australian College of
Theology (ACT) courses offered at SMBC.
Students
may apply for FEE-HELP assistance for all or part of
their annual ACT tuition fees. FEE-HELP assistance
is not available for SMBC tuition or residential
student fees.
For
more information about FEE-HELP contact the College
office on (02) 9747 4780, or visit www.goingtouni.gov.au.
